the last shipment we sent via Unishippers was NOT the only "problem" shipment but by far the worst. My crew sent every piece of information possibly needed to Unishippers clarifying that our HIGHLY time sensitive freight had to leave southern Oregon and NOT stop in Portland Oregon (which is a god awful mess) as it would not make the July 26th deadline for a barge headed for Nome Alaska. They didn't bother to explain that only companies who guarantee delivery time should be used for this sort of time sensitive shipping. Central transport was listed as an option and we selected them not knowing they do not guarantee ANYTHING. The professionals should have steered us away from this and didn't. As a result our freight sat on a truck for ten days in Portland before I got mad and sent a different company to "rescue" our freight for an additional $1000.00 as Unishippers said it would cost an extra $1200.00. They did opffer to slpit that in half but by then my trust wass gone and I paid someone else the thousand dollars to move the freight 165 miles. I'm writing this today because they had the nerve to send me an invoice after we spent massive hours and $1000.00 cleaning up their mess. I suggest people go straight to the trucking companies (not Central Transport) and as we are now doing set up a two tier system for deliveries. Tier one would be a bit more expensive but would only include guaranteed delivery service for anything time sensitive. Our clients will still have the opportunity to select the less expensive "slow mode" if they are in NO HURRY WHAT SO EVER.
