Recently, I was contacted by UPS customer service about the impossiblity to deliver an order at my house. The delivery person had been unable to read my name tag on my house bell, and although the lights were on and we were at home, had apparently not bothered to knock on the door or window or ask one of the neighbours to verify that this was my address. I must admit that I was overwhelmed by such incompetence or unwillingness to complete the delivery and I started a rather rude and agitated rant about this incredible poor service. My complaint was noted for referral by the calm and collected UPS-caller and a new delivery date was planned. I simply had to put my name clearly on the door.Well, I received my order on the agreed date, but only thanks to the extra effort of the UPS delivery person to identify the correct address. The seller, a trusted firm of which I am a regular customer and who have my delivery address in their customer database, had mistakingly printed a wrong house number on the address label. I really appreciate the effort the UPS delivery person has had to put into identifying my house.Therefore, I want to publicly apologize to the UPS delivery personnel for the rude and derogatory remarks and complaint I made when contacted by the UPS customer service after the first failed delivery attempt. I truly regret my angry reaction, for which I feel ashamed now, and highly appreciate the way UPS delivery handled and solved the problem that was caused by a mistake for which they were in no way responsible.
