One day some woman starts phoning me up, said she was from UPS and demands to know my address. I blocked her number. Then I started to receive letters from UPS demanding thousands for their services, only I never used UPS. Naturally I assumed these were scammers who somehow got my address and phone number. Next I got got a very threatening solicotors letter from England. I assumed these were the scammers using some solicitors letterhead so I looked up that solicitor online and told them someone was using their letterhead to send threatening letters. I also contacted UPS to tell them about what I believed was a scam. UPS ignored what i told them and said they would pass it on to their accounts department, which I believed had nothing to do with what I thought was a scam. Next the solicitors sent me a letter indicating the UPS charges were to do with some other company that I recognized because I made a small online purchase from them. I contacted that company and emailed what the solicitor sent (I now guessed it wasnt a scam after all but incompetence on the part of UPS). A few hours later, I got a call from someone who asked me to say on the phone to name the people who owed the debt. I didnt know the names of the people who worked in the company I made the purchase from but fortunately, an employee from that company was also on the line (a three-way conversation) and he said yes that is us. So the first person accepted that and that was the end of the matter. Only I never got an appology from UPS for annoying me. The date experience below is wrong, it happed a couple of years ago but the date box is acting funny.
