I have used UPS few times and I have come to the conclusion that there is a well defined strategy drivers uses to get less work done in a day. They drive by your house then you get an email telling you that "Our driver cannot complete delivery. We are trying to get the security access our driver needs for this delivery." Even when there is no gate or no access request is required. This has happened twice already. The customer care has been quite unhelpful both times because the depot is the one managing the deliveries while the customer service has really no idea what is happening. No apology can help if I have to wait 3 more days to get my parcel, of course drivers don't deliver on a Saturday. I must say these drivers have a very easy life, they fail to deliver the parcel and the customer care needs to hear the complaints from the customers. They have one job, yet somehow they manage to do it badly.
