Don't go with UPS Dublin for Anything Important!

Left my laptop at a friend's apartment in Renalgh who I was staying with before flying to France the next day. I went ahead and created a shipping label on Boxtal, emailed it to my friend who created a package to be delivered to meWhen I originally created the label on Boxtal I did indicate in the notes that the doorbell was broken at the home location and to phone the person (who was home all day) and the will hand them the package. Unfortunately this did not happen. We did reschedule the pickup for Thursday the 21st on UPS website indicating the same thing but my friend never received that call. Only an attempted pickup slip. Are the drivers aware of those special instruction notes? A two second phone call might have avoided everything. I noticed there was an oohpod drop-off right by him and asked him to just drop it there instead. Problem solved, or so I thought! - Parcel dropped off at oohpod Renalgh 22 at on September 22nd at 8:33AM--This could have simply been a technical issue but the drop off receipt was not sent to the phone number entered when the parcel was dropped off. -Parcel now marked as a return on the same day at 12:36PM. Reason: "The max days to hold the package at the UPS Access Point™ location has expired. The package will be returned." ---Weird communication here, perhaps bad scan by the driver? Also the parcel was only in the drop off for a few hours so the return reason is way off. After contacting customer service call center later that day to find out why they said they would get back to me but never did. Also contacted oohpod to ask for confirmation and how I can retrieve the package (The return location is the same oohpod location on the label) However they told me the package was actually picked up based on what they see on there system and not at the location. On Monday September 25th I received an email from UPS saying that the return scan was a mistake and that the package was at the oohpod location and would be picked up that day. Between the 25th to when I initially reached out to customer service again on the 27th because there was no movement. It was basically a back on forth with the call center saying they would get back to me but no real answers. On the 27th an investigation was opened by UPS thanks mostly to me finding someone who worked at UPS Dublin on socials and taking a shot and telling him my story and who actually took the time to forward my email to the customer service manager. As if was from him a senior type employee I'm sure that played a huge part in customer service looking out the way they did. On October 2nd a collection scan finally appeared, finally a positive development, most likely due to the investigation being opened. However when I called customer service to confirm they said this was a mistake scan and the package still hasn't been collected but to wait for the investigation to run its course. I was livid. About 20 Minutes later I received a call from customer service in the UK saying that the parcel was in fact collected and offered an apology for the length of time and confusion and the parcel would be on the move by that evening. After seeing no movement or at least an origin scan on the second and third of October I grew concerned again and contacted the call center who said that the depot would call me back with further info but never did. It was at this time I reached out to that one person I made contact with via socials who actually helped get the initial investigation started buy UPS themselves not just by Boxtal which opened a separate investigation. They came back with this:"Ups Dublin has confirmed they do have your shipment, when the driver turned up at the lockers on Friday 29th September your shipment was not inside. The same driver returned on the Monday 2nd October to retrieve packages 1 of the 3 was your shipment. The 3 packages that was retrieved the packaging was wet through as the locker leaked water through. Ups Dublin will rewrap your shipment today, it will be exported this evening to the address below"The obvious question is how was the parcel not there on Friday but back on Monday? Also why did it take a bunch of teeth pulling by a manager all the way in the UK who thank God actually cared and actually took the time to call me and promised she'd stay on their case till it was resolved to finally get this info? That manager actually got them to repack my laptop and within a few hours an origin scan came up and it started moving and by the next morning I finally got my laptop on October 5th. There is no visible water damage even after opening the laptop up and checking the internals. I remember packing it well double boxed and taped in bubble wrap bag. Perhaps that's why. Horrible experience with a bunch of ups and downs which made it worse. UPS Dublin, Finglas has some serious issues that need addressing.
