I recently got a free part as a replacement under warranty for a product I own... Item was shipped from US and it was clearly declared on docket that the item was free / gift!!UPS as ALWAYS decided to pass it through Customs / Duties and then came back to say that if I wanted the item I should pay for custom charges the amount of approx 15 euros... I paid as I needed the item to fix my product and when I received it I saw on the proof of payment that I paid 90% of the amount for UPS handling charges and the rest 10% on "taxes"... What in the actual hell? The item was free and its value was less than 15 USD, I paid 15 EUR for UPS to handle what??????This is high way robbery as it seems... They should NOT charge anything near the value of the item, they should NOT charge for a free item... I want a refund but when contacted customer service the response was very generic and that I will receive a proof of payment soon by post....!!! I cannot believe what courier services are doing in Ireland to get extra money... Appalling tactics!! I will never use UPS again in the future for any of my shipments (national or international)...
