UPS, useless parcel service???I Got a notification from UPS telling me my parcel is on its way Wed, Thursday it was out for delivery, I kept it on my phone. all that day there was no delivery. following day Friday I get a notification telling me it's on its way...again???so a little bit of work and enquiry let's me know it left dublin Wed pm, arrived in Cork City UPS depot Thursday morning just after 12.01am. it was scanned in as a container, not a package, then the container was left unopened all day Thur and as of 2.00pm Friday is still lying unopened in Cork UPS.I contacted UPS and after the runaround of chasing contacts and speaking to a Bot I finally got to speak to someone at their "national" helpline, the number on Cork City UPS is not in service, due to misdirection? I assume. well UPS told me they had " high volumes" and that I got the out for delivery notification due to their "Protocol"....what Protocol?well there you have it, a multinational delivery service use a protocol based on vague assumptions IE: your package arrives at 12 01am .....THEREFORE...wait for it...it is " Assumed" it will be out for delivery that day...and you dear customer will be notified by UPS that it is out for delivery.I was told there was noting anyone could do, that I should "monitor" their site and track my package? a package that's lying in an unopened container to see " if it's status changes"I don't know how other delivery companies work but the word Delivery hardly stacks up for thos company and as to their repetitive statements on the phone it is everything else that is at fault...not UPSmy advice...don't use this cowboy organisation
