Back and front doors fitted. The workmanship was dreadful The back door surrounds did not fit and were not sealed. The front door was warped when fitted, has leaked since and now the locking mechanisms don't work because of the warped door. Customer service don't want to know and your 10 year warranty is not worth the paper it is written on. Have tried contacting them recently and no answer. I am now taking the route advised from Trading standards and Which. The company will have 14 days to reply to the letter I am about to send to Mr McGill and if no reply I will have another company repair or replace the faulty items and take the matter to the small claims court. Which will cost me around £40. Read these reviews and others on the internet before you make your mind up. I had all of my windows fitted by a different company and what a difference from sale to completion. it was night and day. Some rectification was required and was carried out brilliantly. And their 10 year warranty covers everything down to the handles, hinges etc. etc.Notice that Mr McGill has reported this review. And after Trustpilot compliance review it has been reinstated. Please take note that the UPVC company and the UPVC door company have the same showrooms. Website address for UPVC door company takes you to the UPVC company pages. Head office and showrooms same address. Same managing director. My order no 8101904 was and is valid and I have it in front of me. Installed on 19/05/2008. Company acceptance 13/06/2008.In reply to Mr McGills company reply. First you reported my review with the comment that I did not have any doors fitted by your company and that I must be a competitor trying to blacken your good company name.. Now you admit that doors were fitted. Next it does not matter if it was 9 years ago, you gave me a 10 year warranty. You are correct in saying however that a warped door, front door only, would not last 9 years and it has not. Also i have a copy of a repair sheet from your company dated 23/05/2008 which states front door frame not square after having sent you an email to say that the door was warped. The same door has had the door glass realigned on another repair sheet. In fact it is now taped up to try and stop the wind whistling in. A warped door will not be cured by a service, it is a manufacturing fault or storage fault or fitting fault. A service includes realignment of the door using the hinges, it will not straighten a door section which touches the frame at the top, touches the frame at the bottom and does not touch anywhere in between. Your doors say they are supposed to be strenghtened with metal. Thank you for the offer of a paid for service, however I will not be paying for a service which will achieve nothing for the warping. I will have an independent inspection of both doors by an independent company, and to be fair to all it will not be another door or window company. Inspection found that door frame on front door was not fitted square as per original complaint. Unable to be repaired without removing door frame and refitting. Door locking mechanism internals part broken due to one part soft metal and one part hard metal. New locks are now manufactured worldwide by Yale with all parts made with hard metal due to this issue.best regards
