I have gotten WONDERFUL jobs off UrbanSitter. Reliable, friendly families that have remained long term friends and even led to more work! However, the reason for the 3 stars is the fee they are charging. I understand that they are running are business and need to make money, and say that it will “draw in more families” and will be a better experience for all. While that may be true, they shouldn’t charge to do it, especially if they take a chunk of our earnings. I unfortunately have had to switch to other care sites, and know other sitters who have as well. It was great while it lasted and I’m going off of the jobs I had while it was still free, but this membership fee is completely unnecessary. If you’re lucky enough to have money to spare (which is not most nannies I don’t think?) then by all means UrbanSitter is great. But if you’re looking to save money, there are plenty of other free safe options out there.
