I initially booked my stay at Balmes from September 2024 to January 2025, but I got hooked and extended my stay until June, the end of my internship!as student housing goes, this one is spectacular! you have options to choose the rooms, I was in the smallest single one. which is alright if you don't spend much time at home (usually the case when you're exchange). the facilities work great, the elevator looks old and gives the ick to people at first, but it works alright. the kitchen was quite well-equipped, i bought only a few specific things but everything necessary is there. there is a biweekly cleaning of common spaces and they (+ the technical people) are all nice. pretty cool how you can open doors not only with keys, but also with an app, the only thing is don't lock yourself out of your room in the night (my roommate's story) as it will cost you greatly to handle it outside of working hours.i specifically love my stay for the people i met here, a few roommates are great friends of mine. it all depends on luck, but i assure you if there are 7 people in the flat, there's gotta be someone you'll vibe with :) having a spacious living room surely helps with socialization. in my flat it's quite common to have a chat when you're cooking at the same time or just chilling on the couch. also a provided TV is cool, as we often watch videos or listen to music together :3the location is great too (mind you, this is about Balmes specifically). Padua metro station is right outside so you can catch a train even if you run out in 3 minutes (from experience), a bus stop and other lines are also conveniently close. SPAR is right downstairs, but for more affordable shopping Mercadona or Lidl are manageble distance away. i studied in la Salle and i walked there everyday. if you're like me, prepare for a regular training as it's quite a hike uphill, but walking will get you there faster than any other transport.anyway. there's a lot more to say, feel free to contact me if you're curious about something specific. if you do end up here, know you're in for a great time!
