I booked a property for a Summer vacation with my family. I had a holel booked before but cancelled it after I received a booking confirmation from VRBO. 18 hours before the trip the VRBO host cancelled the reservation. I couldn't rebook any hotel in the area I was planning to travel. VRBO support couldn't find me any alternative nor offered any compensation. Booking with VRBO is a gamble that you probably don't want to take when planning your next trip.
