I ordered a custom engraved portrait bracelet, intended as a deeply personal gift. Unfortunately, the item I received contains clear missing engraving, including a completely flat, unengraved forehead area and a partially missing eyebrow, despite these features being clearly visible in the original image I supplied.
This is not a matter of subtle engraving, lighting, or personal preference. Large areas of the face are entirely unengraved and indistinguishable from the background metal, which significantly affects the likeness and leaves the portrait feeling incomplete.
I raised this promptly with the company and provided clear photos alongside the original reference image. Rather than acknowledging the absence of engraving, I was repeatedly told this was “intentional” due to their engraving process and that lighter areas of a face are simply not engraved at all. This limitation was never disclosed prior to purchase, despite the product being marketed as a custom portrait piece.
No remake or refund was offered, and responsibility was repeatedly deflected back onto the process rather than the outcome. For something as personal as a custom portrait, this lack of accountability and quality control is extremely disappointing.
I would urge anyone considering a highly personal custom piece to be aware that missing facial detail may be deemed acceptable by this company, even when the final result does not accurately represent the image provided.
