I’ve owned my Veloretti Ace for approximately three years, and the motor has failed twice during that time. The first failure occurred while the bike was under warranty and was covered. The second failure happened just outside the warranty period. I was quoted approximately €800 for a replacement motor and installation, with no assurance that this would fully resolve the issue. To help decide whether repairing the bike made sense, I brought it to multiple independent bike shops in Amsterdam. Each advised that, given the cost of repair relative to the bike’s age and value, replacing the bike entirely would likely be the more practical option. When I asked whether I should consider purchasing another Veloretti, they recommended looking at bikes with Bosch motors instead, citing easier access to parts, simpler repairs, and shorter downtime when issues arise. The bike itself looks good and rides well when functioning. However, without a working motor, it is effectively unusable. Based on my experience — two motor failures in three years and a high out-of-warranty repair cost — I consider this a poor long-term value and would not purchase it again.
