They send your business an automated email at 5.01pm on a Friday prior to a Bank Holiday Monday to let you know regarding their bin collection schedule for said Monday (our scheduled weekly collection day), knowing full well that the vast majority of their business customers will not see this message in a timely fashion and be able to act on it. The bin is then not collected on the Bank Holiday Monday and, after making a phone call, they promise that it will be collected on an alternative day. Of course, nobody arrives on the advised alternative day to collect the bin.Entirely avoidable and predictable, and no doubt we’ll have to dispute the relevant invoice with them, with the onus being put on us to prove that they didn’t come to collect the bin (rather than the other way round). Standard procedure for most utilities providers these days.
