I took my bike in for a service and also asked that a pair of adjustable brake/clutch levers be fitted. When I collected the bike all seemed well with the levers at full extension. As I rode away, I pulled both levers in a little - after this neither clutch nor brake levers worked properly. The clutch didn't allow me to change gear and when I had to stop the front brakes simply didn't work at all. Thankfully I was on a slow, in town, road and the rear brake stopped me safely. Had I taken the nearby dual carriageway, with its higher speed limit, then the consequences could have been disastrous!I managed to kick the bike out of gear and readjusted the clutch lever to maximum extension, after which it still was sticky on gear changes. The brakes did work after putting them back to maximum extension.I reported these problems to Vertu as soon as I arrived home - they said that they would look into it and get back to me. I also reported the problems via their 'feedback' email. After a week, I have heard nothing from them at all. I'm suspecting that they really don't care about what they did.I have had similar lever fitted to bikes in the past and they have always worked well, at whatever extension. In this instance I believe that they cannot have been tested properly before the bike was returned to me.
