As a first time customer I have had an absolutely shocking experience with Vestiaire Collective.
I attempted to purchase a Prada sweater and applied a valid promo code at checkout. Their platform clearly displayed a total of £239.46 with the promo code applied. However when proceeding to payment, I was being charged £294.83 — a difference of £55.37.
I spent from 9:51pm until midnight dealing with multiple unhelpful agents who:
Repeatedly called me by the wrong name despite being corrected
Gave completely contradictory information
Suggested I overpay and wait for a refund
Blamed my bank for their platform's error
Refused to escalate to a supervisor
One agent confirmed it was a website error, which subsequent agents then denied
The following morning agents continued to be equally unhelpful and dismissive.
I have since discovered on Trustpilot other customers have experienced the exact same price discrepancy issue — this is clearly a known problem that Vestiare is refusing to ignore.
A formal complaint has been submitted and I will be escalating to Trading Standards if not resolved.
I'd avoid buying and selling on their platform until they fix their checkout system
