My wife and I decided to go to Mexico City for our honeymoon, and we planned our trip around The Whitest Boy Alive's concert. There were no tickets available through Ticketmaster, but Google kept directing me to Viagogo as an alternative. After a few days looking into it with a bit of skepticism, I finally go ahead and purchase a couple of tickets on Viagogo.
For some reason, the tickets I purchased were going to be sent via FedEx. I thought this was strange because Ticketmaster was the official ticket sales platform for the show, and they work with digital tickets which can be transferred from one holder to another. Anyway, the FedEx delivery was a major inconvenience because I was traveling from Dominican Republic to Mexico for this show, and I would already be out of town by the time the tickets were supposed to arrive to my home address. So, I had to find someone in Mexico who could receive the tickets for me.
As promised, the tickets arrived via FedEx at my friend's place the day before the show. I met with my friend to get my tickets the same day of the show, and when I got to the door at the theatre, the Ticketmaster staff immediately tells me my tickets are not valid, because they do not process printed tickets. I was both disappointed and furious. As this was my first time using Viagogo, I didn't fully trust these guys.
Anyway, I went online and got in touch with a support agent. The response was quick, I explained the situation, we went back and forth for a bit until she came up with a solution. She offered to replace my tickets, so naturally I asked "how are you gonna deliver these tickets to me?". Thankfully, she said "email delivery". She also offered the option to reimburse my purchase, but that was no good for me as I had travelled to see this show and I was not going to miss it for anything in the world.
So I went ahead and accepted the ticket replacement. Shortly after, I got an email with a link to Ticketmaster ticket transfer platform. After a 15 minute ordeal with a bad internet connection, I finally got the tickets transferred to my Ticketmaster account and into my iPhone Wallet. My wife and I hurried over to the theatre door, got checked in, and made it to our seats right in the middle of the first song.
Turns out the seats we got with the replacement tickets were much better than the ones from the original tickets. In the end, the show was amazing. Super glad we didn't miss it. Viagogo came through. True story. We can definitely trust these guys.
