Dear people who are thinking of buying a ticket via Viagogo,TLDR: Don’t buy your tickets here, buy them at Stubhub or any other platform you can trust. The Viagogo guarantee - you’ll receive valid tickets for the event - is NOT TRUE. If you want to know more, read below. Story:Remember the story of Zinedine Zidane who was chosen as the new king of Spain? That’s right, never happened. Same as the tickets we should have received for the Real Madrid - Villareal game from Viagogo. We choose Viagogo because they guarantee you’ll receive tickets. I started to have doubts after this experience about what the word guarantee means, so I looked it up: “to promise that some condition holds or will be fulfilled”. On the day of the game we should have received the tickets. Since this didn’t happen around lunchtime, I reached out for the first time and the service representative told me that the seller has till 16:00 to release the tickets. Little side step: the way it works is that you as a seller list your tickets. Once a buyer buys them, you as a seller have to go in the system again to say again you want to sell them and confirm. Sounds already logical, right? At 16:00 we didn’t receive them, where another representative told us it is now 18:00. And over the course of 2 hours and being in front of the gates of Bernabeau, this story repeated itself 3 times till it was 20:30 - 30 minutes before the game. I decided to gave them one last call. And here it comes: Viagogo wasn’t able to deliver the tickets (no s*** sherlock) and they would send me a link to select alternative tickets. When opening the link I found the following friendly message: no available tickets. Interesting, because on their website several tickets were still listed. 50% more expensive now. The agent said she couldn’t transfer other tickets because her ‘computer says no’. I had to accept the refund and go buy them myself again. No discount or whatsoever. What is working well: any other ticket seller. You visit their website, buy tickets and instantly get them in your wallet on your phone. Within 5 minutes we were in, although it came with a much higher price. This review is… in the Netherlands we say: ‘een deuk in een pakkie boter’. Which basically means in this context that this review is another 1 out of 5 stars review on top of thousands of others (so hopefully this says enough for you already), but at least I feel good that I put some effort in to warn any potential buyer for a scam.
