I have been booking with Viator for many years - done many tours. Was always my go-to. But... my goodness, have times changed. Their customer service lately has been abysmal. A combination of AI Slop and chat/email bots and/or disengaged remote folks with no time or interest in reading comprehension.
Case-in-point: Bait and Switch pricing on a Hoover Dam Tour - advertised at one price (yes, it says "From") but the From price does not exist. When you go to book it, the price is exactly double the advertised price - seems like an attempt to deceive. Response: well, on X date the price is a few dollars less - OK, but never even close to the non-existent "From" price.
Next, refusal to honor a price match for a NYC 1/2 day bus tour. Found a cheaper price on their sister company page, but... fine print this , fine print that. With patronizing explanations and no consistency in their representatives who respond. No continuity - just a game of telephone, more or less.
The emails and chats back and forth are so circular and repetitive, it makes one want to just leave the platform entirely.
