WARNING TO POTENTIAL BUYERS: A Wondershare "Perpetual License" is NOT forever. It's a temporary license that expires the moment a third-party API changes, and they will refuse to fix it unless you pay for a new version.I purchased a Perpetual License for Wondershare UniConverter Version 15.7.3, explicitly for two devices. A perpetual license guarantees I can use the product I bought indefinitely.On December 5th, 2025, the primary feature of the software stopped working completely due to an alleged "major redesign of an API change.I contacted customer service asking for a free patch or minor update to restore the functionality of the product I own. My request was entirely consistent with honoring a perpetual license, which should include essential bug fixes.Wondershare's official and final response was a firm refusal:They stated "technical support is no longer provided for version 15."They offered only one "solution": A 50% discount to purchase an upgrade to the latest version (V17).This is a clear and unacceptable breach of the perpetual license agreement. Wondershare is deliberately withholding a minor fix to force existing, loyal, perpetual license holders to pay for an entirely new product.The result is that the software I paid for "perpetually" has been rendered useless by the vendor's refusal to provide support. My perpetual license is now worthless.If you are considering purchasing a perpetual license from Wondershare, be aware that you are buying a product they will cease to support the moment an external technical change occurs, turning your "lifetime" purchase into a paid subscription model.I have now uninstalled all Wondershare products and will advise everyone to seek a more ethical vendor.
