Poor quality products and return hassle

I ordered a gift for a friend's housewarming, but it arrived two weeks late, making it too late for the occasion. The quality was poor, and the USB cable was unattractive. The colors were dull and not as shown in the pictures. Had I known it shipped from overseas, I wouldn't have placed the order. I had to email the support team and complete a return form in another language since the website lacks return options, but I’m unsure if I’ll be able to return it and get my money back. Update: After several emails, I gave up and accepted a partial refund. Better to get something back than to continue emailing and incur return fees.
