I want to report a shameful resolution of Transaction n. 18858502286. I received a Plextor PX-810UF drive with a hardware failure: the CD laser is dead/burnt out. This device is a multi-format drive (CD/DVD) by design. If it doesn't read CDs, it's BROKEN.
Despite the seller implicitly admitting the fault in chat ("I didn't write it reads CDs in the title"), Vinted Support (agent Issam) ruled in favor of the seller. Their logic? Since the word "CD" wasn't in the listing title, the seller is allowed to send a defective unit with a broken internal laser.
This is a clear violation of EU Directive 2019/771 on the conformity of goods. Vinted is protecting a dishonest seller and ignoring technical facts. I paid for "Buyer Protection," but I am not being protected at all. I am now filing a formal complaint with the European Consumer Centre (ECC-Net) and requesting a chargeback.
Fix this and refund my money!
