Deceased Puppy
Just a reminder, remember to trust your gut and to make sure a vet is well versed before bringing your animals to them. No accountability is being taken on the business’s behalf so they leave me no choice but to speak out. Our Pomeranian puppy Pickle had an appointment this past Saturday. The vet unfortunately diagnosed our 1 lb 3 oz Pickle with a 4/6 heart murmur, and believed it was appropriate to administer a 5 in 1 vaccine. We expressed that we were worried about a full dose and would like a micro dose, because of his weight and condition, but the vet proceeded to vaccinate. She deemed him as appearing “healthy enough.” Pomeranians are also very easily prone to sugar crashes, which all made for a very risky situation for Pickle. The following day he was playing as usual and when we checked in on him an hour later, he was found dead under our couch. Knowing what we know now after researching as well as talking with others in the medical field, this situation was extremely careless and vaccines should have been withheld until he was seen by a cardiologist and was an acceptable weight.
Pickle was meant to go to my grandmother, who is now grieving him. He was our spunky runt and was supposed to live his life being someone’s special needs pet.
Pickle was a very cherished little one and absolutely would still be here if more attention to detail was given towards his precious life. This was unacceptable and heartbreaking.
