I wish there was an option to leave zero stars... Went to the monthly walk-in clinic at Pet Suppl

I wish there was an option to leave zero stars...

Went to the monthly walk-in clinic at Pet Supplies Plus in Beavercreek, Ohio

Staff is very unprofessional and the vet and techs acted like they was afraid to touch my dog (a poodle). A few of the vet techs spoke to me like I was a preschooler, which I do not appreciate.

While I was waiting, I witnessed the vet turn away 4 cats for appointments because they "hissed" at her (c'mon...they are cats that are in a strange environment! Any type of pet would be stressed)

I also did not get all of the exams/tests in the package that I paid for. The vet just listened to my dog's heart; she did not check his ears, mouth, temperature or anything else. I do not consider that a "comprehensive" vet examination.

I had a few questions for the vet as well but she never gave me a chance to ask them.

My dog was anxious as well (he's a new rescue) and the vet was afraid to give him his shots and almost straight up refused to treat him because he was shaking and kept trying to walk away from the exam area. (The vet was very fearful-acting and unprofessional and she kept recommending for me to put my dog on sedatives in the future. I do NOT agree, as my dog did not growl, lunge, or snarl at anyone and never has.)

Next she told me that he needed to get a booster shot in 4 weeks, however, she told me that she didn't want me to bring him back to the clinic (because apparently my dog now associates the vet (her) with stress and she doesn't want to "trigger" him and deal with all of that). So she told me that I need to go to another veterinarian in the future. I have NEVER seen a medical "professional" turn patients (or business) in the way that I have witnessed today.

In short, I do NOT recommend this particular clinic to anyone. The vets and techs act like they are afraid to touch your pet, are not friendly, are not professional, and definitely not knowledgeable. This is a rare time where I am more than happy to take my business (and money) elsewhere.

Deceased Puppy

Just a reminder, remember to trust your gut and to make sure a vet is well versed before bringing your animals to them. No accountability is being taken on the business’s behalf so they leave me no choice but to speak out. Our Pomeranian puppy Pickle had an appointment this past Saturday. The vet unfortunately diagnosed our 1 lb 3 oz Pickle with a 4/6 heart murmur, and believed it was appropriate to administer a 5 in 1 vaccine. We expressed that we were worried about a full dose and would like a micro dose, because of his weight and condition, but the vet proceeded to vaccinate. She deemed him as appearing “healthy enough.” Pomeranians are also very easily prone to sugar crashes, which all made for a very risky situation for Pickle. The following day he was playing as usual and when we checked in on him an hour later, he was found dead under our couch. Knowing what we know now after researching as well as talking with others in the medical field, this situation was extremely careless and vaccines should have been withheld until he was seen by a cardiologist and was an acceptable weight.

Pickle was meant to go to my grandmother, who is now grieving him. He was our spunky runt and was supposed to live his life being someone’s special needs pet.

Pickle was a very cherished little one and absolutely would still be here if more attention to detail was given towards his precious life. This was unacceptable and heartbreaking.

Fantastic Experience at the Pet Supermarket

We brought our three dogs to the local pet supermarket, and the staff were very kind and supportive. We waited in our car until we received a text, which took roughly 45 minutes. Once inside, they administered the shots, conducted an exam, and provided routine dewormer for the pups. The total cost for all three dogs was $237, whereas it would have been $268 per dog at our usual vet. It was definitely worth it. They were excellent!

Negative 1

Negative 1 "IDLE the not the vet guy" is a great name for the rude, inept jerk who was unable to provide proof of new "rule" that just came into place. This is because "we treated a pet with rabies....blah blah blah" He was the most nasty unhelpful waste of space I have ever dealt with in my life. Not to mention the vicious dog that was trying to attack my dog. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME ON THESE CHARLATANS. Go to a real vet and not someone who got his education in someone's back yard. Don't buy products from Pet Supermarket. Protest these corporate greed companies that want to take advantage of your love for your pet. Not to mention the grab of your wallet.

They double my price, and did not give a receipt

Said 25 for rabies that's all I had done when I went to pay it jumped to over 44.00 if there going to charge that much they need to be upfront about it on line. That almost doubled. I got no check on microchip.Which she has and marked no on her paper work. No receipt when I got checked out.

The WORST

Oh my goodness…literally the worst, most stressful vet visit ever! If your dog has any anxiety when it comes to vaccinations do not take them here. Vet Tech actually walked away when one of our dogs was squirming and threw her hands up saying “I’m done”…There was a tech that stepped in and very calmly got the vaccination completed. Thankful for her but absolutely never again…Not worth saving $$ for this incredibly terrible experience

DO NOT USE THEM

DO NOT USE THEM. I ordered 6 months of flea tick meds for two of my dogs. They say they gave me 12 months and I cannot refill. I called customer service 3 times. On hold for 20 min EACH time. Finally connected with a “customer service rep” who heard my issue and HUNG UP ON ME.

I registered on line for TS clinic

I registered on line for TS clinic, was told I would be texted when they were ready for me. Clinic was from 9:30 - 11:00am . I got there early (9:00am) i choose to wait in my car until I was texted, all fine and good. Got my text at 10:07am that they were ready for me, my issue was it was almost 11:00 before my pets were seen . I waited almost an hour after I was told they were ready for me for my pets to be seen. I was there not counting me getting there early for the whole time plus some because I wasnt in my car until 11:15. There's got to be a better way. Loved the Dr. And staff they were great. Just the time thing was a bit ridiculous being pre-registered and all.

Newark, NY Tractor Supply clinic

Went to the clinic today at Tractor Supply in Newark NY. The only reason I went there for his Rabies shot was because my normal vet does not do nails. A service they have listed. Mind you I just had this done at the clinic in Geneva the day before with no issues. Was also told they could not do it, it was against NYS law because his rabies shot was 5 days overdue. Again no issues with this in Geneva. When I got to the vet she said oh we do not even have the kit to do nails here because we want to see as many animals as possible for shots today. I listened to them talk people into as many tests etc as possible which would run up a huge bill like a Thrive-owned business would do. Not sure what corporation owns them but the model seems to be to make as much money as possible. My dog also was not weighed and they treated me like I was a bad owner because I would only get my dog a rabies shot. My dog is never exposed to other dogs and you do not get distemper, parvo or anything else from breathing the air outside. I told them I would never return and their attitude was who cares. One by one you will lose your customers from this unprofessional rip-off clinic. Forgot to mention last week they cancelled this clinic about two hours before we were to be there.

Misleading information

We arrived early since it is stated: First Come, First Served, no appointment vet care. Waited in line, like normal, 4th to be exact. 3pm comes, Vet is running behind, no biggie. Eventually a girl comes to us and says things have changed and we all need to pre-register. We were bumped by at least 15 people and sent to back of line. Do better PetVet Clinic and change you're sales pitch!
