Our flight going out was stressful as we were sat with 2 children ages 5 and 7 cousins and their mothers were sat away from the children. The cabin crew were aware we were not the children’s parents and were negligent in their duty of care for the children. They should have moved the children and parents together. To add insult to injury they gave the children hot drinks of coffee and tea which were spilt on me and the cabin crew did nothing.
Coming home was worse as we were getting a connected flight and it was delayed by a short time and when we got to the small airport even though they had been told and our bags had been security checked before they only allowed all 10 of us to take on our carry on bags and we had to leave our luggage at St. Vincent airport with Virgin refusing to send our bags back to us. We didn’t leave for over an hour and a half and they had plenty of time to get our luggage on. The Virgin manager was rude and very unhelpful. The local staff would have helped if not for her. Very sad that a big company has such a bad training of their staff.
The food and drinks on the journey back were also disappointing and not what was described on the app of what would be available. On the whole a very stressful experience. I have heard Virgin has bad reviews but believed they could not be as bad as people had told me. I now have personal experience and will not doubt bad reviews again.
