Don't pay for repairs.

One of my VIVE base stations had stopped working just outside the 2 years warranty. I spoke to someone on live chat and got it all arranged to be picked up, with me acknowledging I would be happy to pay for repairs. The alternative is £140+ for a new base station. It got picked up by UPS and sent off all very efficiently. This was taken from the UK to Romania to a company called CTDI. They contacted me after a few days and said they could repair it, and do I want a business invoice or domestic. I said domestic which is the same as the business one but with VAT.I received the invoice which is a full business invoice for €72.33, which if I don't want to pay, I still need to pay €35 for them looking and to return it.So I thought this is still cheaper than a new one, so asked how to pay the invoice by paypal or credit card. The response was by iban/swift bank transfer and all the details are on the invoice as shown below.(not very helpful without labelling for someone who has never sent international payments before)Regenersis (Bucharest) SRLStr.Buiacului, Nr.2, Hala B2/B6t: +40(0)372155300 / f:+40(0)214041455VAT No: RO 15042519Reg J23/5071/21.12.2016RO83 INGB 0001 0081 8495 0710SWIFT CODE: INGBROBUShare capital 100020So I set up a bank transfer which has cost me another €15 for the transfer. Now costing me close to €90I accept that I am paying for it to be repaired as cannot use the vive without it so I need it.My issue is HTC using an external company, with €30 postage costs, who don't take credit cards or paypal for consumers to pay for the repair. Why can't HTC have localised repair centres in each country and take responsibility for their products and repairs.I will just look on ebay next time for second hand spares.I am not blaming CTDI even thought they could be a bit more consumer friendly and have better payment methods.I am blaming HTC, it all should be done through them, including payments and correspondence. If you can find the spares elsewhere, avoid this.
