Dear Development Team,
I would like to provide feedback regarding the armor modeling of the M1A2 Abrams (SEP V2) in War Thunder.
While I greatly appreciate the realism and attention to detail in the game, I am concerned that the current armor values of the Abrams appear to be significantly lower than expected. For example, the turret cheeks are modeled at approximately 50 mm, whereas publicly available sources suggest that the effective protection in reality is well over 1000 mm (depending on the type of threat).
Similarly, the turret ring is shown as 50 mm in-game, while estimates suggest it should be closer to 250 mm. The lower front plate, sides, and rear sections also seem to be underrepresented compared to available data. Overall, the armor values appear to be several times weaker than what is generally reported for the real vehicle.
As a long-time player and a particular fan of the Abrams, I would greatly appreciate it if the armor modeling could be reviewed for accuracy. Thank you for your continued work on improving the game and maintaining its high standards of realism.
Kind regards,
