I have a watch with a broken winder, and contacted Watch Doctors. We had the following email conversation. Them: "We have the pleasure in providing you with an estimate for a replacement plain button and stem at £42.00"Me: "Are there any likely problems that would cause your price to increase?"Them: "As long as there is no damage to the movement and a service isn’t required."Once they'd received the watch, their estimate came back at £242, as "service and repairs necessary as movement is rusty"I asked "Please provide an updated quote for just replacing the broken winder."Updated quote came back at £77 for the repair they'd previously estimated at £42.My conclusion - they're either dishonest or incompetent. In either case, I suggest you avoid.
