For the love of god go somewhere else!! Don’t know about all the staff that work there but the two from the Bristol office that “delt” with our case give incompetence a whole new meaning, especially if your dealing with a SEN case, no clue what so ever, everything left to the last minute then rushed through getting dates and simple facts just plain wrong, what they cost us emotionally never mind financially - I can’t even describe, official complaint in against them with the solicitors ombudsman, but no response from them personally of course - but nothing new there!Got used to numerous unanswered emails and phone calls. This resulted in continuously contacting (or trying to) and either (what felt like) “anonymously emailing” them continuously advising and reminding THEM on what needs doing next or by when OR as we had to - you end up doing it yourself the day before the deadline. No legal advice given at any stage as you would expect from a solicitor when fighting a LA, just plain incompetence or avoidance. Then she goes and hands my case over to an outside independent party literally a few days before my tribunal as she had another case unexpectedly continue which “unfortunately happened to be on the same day as mine” it was too late for me to do anything except go through everything in as much detail as humanly possible with the new representative in that short time, and as it turns out he wasn’t even a qualified solicitor! As a result we ended up (surprise surprise) losing our case and was ultimately forced into selling our house and moving to another LA, all this on what should have been (or so I was told) a straightforward easy win case. Ok the Special educational tribunal for wales judge I had was a biased LA loving nodding dog, accepting any flippant vague answer from the LA but demanding detailed specific answers from anyone on my side it was genuinely beyond ridiculous how far up the LA ass this “judge” was, we stood no chance even with the clear mountain of evidence we had. However at this point it was far too late to do anything except pray she’s pull the appeal outta the bag!! but no of course not, after days of trying to contact her regarding my concerns over the tribunal and what I wanted mentioned in the appeal as so many things in the judge’s decision were either factually wrong or just plain taken outta context, she eventually contacts me half hour before my hearing to “run through” a few details, it was shocking I was so angry I could barely speak to her. She then had trouble logging in and left everyone sitting there for 20 minutes, then stuttered her way through her recently gathered notes repeating herself and apologizing profusely- an absolute shambles. I honestly feel we would have been better off going it alone at least it would have been far less stressful! Who knew there are solicitors as bad as this out there, I certainly didn’t, so instruct at your own peril - you’ve been warned !!!!
