Just an awful platform. They'll fill every authors books with millions of ads so that they can splurge on bigger books with movies. Not to mention only their selected authors are allowed to write mature themed books. If you try to do so there's a 90% chance there AI deletes it.

Very very bad!!! I give the rating half a star not even I full star!!! They have been taken down books that are not for children and teenagers!! They should make an app for ppl under the age of 18 instead of taking down books without author’s consent and reader’s consent. Plus little children and parents need to find an app suitable for their age. Just make Wattpad more adult friendly or create another app for kids under 18 only. Other ppl have to suffer because kids want to read on Wattpad. Shame on you Wattpad!!!
I have been posting stories online for free on Wattpad for years now, it’s only just recently that they’ve shafted me and now I will not be posting any new material with them. They removed an entire anthology from my page including some rough draft material that I foolishly trusted with them and hadn’t yet saved elsewhere. I contacted them, explaining the situation, begging for just my rough draft material returned to me. They have completely refused to return my rough draft material to me. Goodness knows what they’re doing with it! Take my advice, post your work elsewhere. Wattpad won’t listen or care if you have a problem.
Wattpad could improve their writing tools (it changes formatting and you have to edit it multiple times before it sticks). Wattpad is not as creator friendly as it claims to be (seriously stick to Ao3 or even Tumblr if you haven't started posted on Wattpad yet), because it'll delete your stories when they think it's against their policies without pardon, without notice until after and then they do not respond to any appeal, so the fact you can "appeal" it is rubbish. They cannot be reached when you have an issue and they also deleted personal messaging basically giving you spam in your comment sections instead of in your DMs.
So far, I have had three different anti-malware suites telling me that Wattpad.com has leaked my personal and private information to the internet.This is not simply a "false positive" because it started in 2015, and now, every time I run a scan, no matter what anti-malware I use, it comes up "your information from this Google account has been compromised and leaked from Wattpad.com to the internet.I've been advised to change my password, cancel all debit and credit cards and take every measure to make sure my identity hasn't been stolen.This is horrible to hear, and Wattpad have never answered any complaints or ever acknowledged they have had a breach.
There are very very good stories to be found. Problem: a lot of stories are totally and utterly crap and there is no way to find out, because Wattpad does not have a rating system. (Why not?) Not to mention the stories that just stop halfway and obviously will never be finished. Prepare for a lot of time wasted.
They can write "wattpad originals" with the same dark subjects that I get my fics removed for. Apparently a queer high school romance is now taboo in wattpad's eyes unless they write it themselves. Seems I'll be sticking to Ao3 since wattpad is censorship happy.
