Not as advertised + difficult return process
I ordered the Waverlo Root Touch Up through a very convincing Facebook ad that made it seem like an easy way to cover grays between salon visits. The applicator looked convenient, and I ordered Medium Brown in a pinch after my hairdresser canceled on me twice.
Right after purchasing, my credit card flagged it as a foreign transaction, which concerned me. Customer service replied:
“Some of our production and shipping may come from overseas, including China… many well-known brands like Sephora and L'Oréal Paris also use warehouses and production facilities in China…”
I decided to trust that and move forward. The product arrived a few weeks later, and I didn’t try it until my roots started showing again.
Unfortunately, the circular sponge “brush” applicator was a problem. It got the product mostly on my skin rather than my hair, and when I washed it off I developed a rash and redness. I had to restart my skincare routine and deal with lingering irritation. I immediately knew this product wasn’t going to work for me.
The customer service experience has also been frustrating. I’ve been emailing for about 15 days and responses are very slow. They initially offered a 33% refund, then said they only refund if the color match is wrong. After repeated polite requests for a full refund, they finally offered a “one-time exception”—but only if I pay to ship the product back to Germany, which costs about $25. I paid $29 for the product plus $8 shipping, so the return shipping makes a refund feel unrealistic.
If you’re considering this product, keep in mind that if it doesn’t work for you, you may have little to no practical recourse for a true 100% satisfaction experience.
