Not as advertised + difficult return process
I ordered the Waverlo Root Touch Up through a very convincing Facebook ad that made it seem like an easy way to cover grays between salon visits. The applicator looked convenient, and I ordered Medium Brown in a pinch after my hairdresser canceled on me twice.

Right after purchasing, my credit card flagged it as a foreign transaction, which concerned me. Customer service replied:
“Some of our production and shipping may come from overseas, including China… many well-known brands like Sephora and L'Oréal Paris also use warehouses and production facilities in China…”

I decided to trust that and move forward. The product arrived a few weeks later, and I didn’t try it until my roots started showing again.

Unfortunately, the circular sponge “brush” applicator was a problem. It got the product mostly on my skin rather than my hair, and when I washed it off I developed a rash and redness. I had to restart my skincare routine and deal with lingering irritation. I immediately knew this product wasn’t going to work for me.

The customer service experience has also been frustrating. I’ve been emailing for about 15 days and responses are very slow. They initially offered a 33% refund, then said they only refund if the color match is wrong. After repeated polite requests for a full refund, they finally offered a “one-time exception”—but only if I pay to ship the product back to Germany, which costs about $25. I paid $29 for the product plus $8 shipping, so the return shipping makes a refund feel unrealistic.

If you’re considering this product, keep in mind that if it doesn’t work for you, you may have little to no practical recourse for a true 100% satisfaction experience.

Does NOT color gray or white hair

I both two Waverlo Hair Care Light Brown Hair Dye Shampoo for the purpose of letting my gray hair grow with a wash in-color that will wash out over a period of time. To have a full head of gray hair to see it I was willing to go that route. Unfortunately this product did not cover any of my gray roots, it only darken the already dye hair. Now the roots stand out more than ever.

Deceptive return policy

Deceptive return policy, to receive a 50% refund, product must be shipped to Germany at a premium price. The shade I received was nothing like the color I ordered. Dark blonde has red undertones. I do not recommend this product!

Waterlo - no magic at all!

It took the longest time to receive it. Color was really off from what was advertised. Very expensive for the size of the product. I paid over $30, used it once, and decided to not use it again. Most disappointing purchase in 2025.

Waverlo False Advertisement

I ordered the root touch up that was suppose to come with a free precision pen. The pen was not included and I have emailed a number of times with no response. I have to wait days to enter the information to contact them as the site will automatically kick me off so I am unable to finish the contact information. False advertisement so stay away from this product!

Do not buy!! Does not look natural, makes your hair feel dirty. If you try to return for money back then tell you to ship and pay shipping charges to GERMANY!!! What a joke

Finally a product that really works!

It’s a great product that has helped me cut my salon visits down to almost nothing. The product is fantastic! It provides great coverage without running down my face during a workout or smudging on pillows. The sprays I was using looked terrible. Waverlo has been the only product I’ve used that is easy to apply and stays on while looking natural.
