Review of WaynaboxAfter a first trip to Barcelona that went smoothly, our second trip with Waynabox was a major disappointment.In Istanbul, we were assigned a hotel room that clearly did not match the booked standard: an apparently long-unused room with no direct daylight, a window facing a shaft-like inner courtyard filled with rubbish, and an unpleasant odor. The regular standard room was only available for an additional charge, which was not part of our booking.Contacting Waynabox via WhatsApp support did not result in any solution, and the support service ended around 7:00 p.m. local time, leaving us without assistance. The hotel manager was unfriendly, and the situation gave the impression that the inferior room allocation was intended to force an extra payment.That same evening, we had no reasonable alternative but to leave the hotel with our luggage and book a suitable hotel at our own expense, which matched the quality originally expected from our Waynabox booking.Waynabox has refused to reimburse the hotel portion. We deliberately waited three months before posting this review to allow sufficient time for clarification or a refund. To date, there has been no response from the company.A voucher for a future trip is not an acceptable solution for us, as we will not travel with Waynabox again. Our impression is that hotel selection relies solely on online ratings and that accommodations are not personally inspected.
