RUN RUN RUN away from World Education Services (WES). This has been the worst evaluation service experience I’ve ever had.
This morning, I chatted with customer service and clearly requested to cancel my evaluation immediately. I even confirmed that I wanted to cancel right away. However, the agent kept saying that he saw my request and had forwarded it to the internal customer service team, and that I needed to wait for their response. He refused to help me cancel it on the spot.
The issue is that if you cancel within 24 hours, you receive a full refund. At that time, I didn’t realize this. I repeatedly asked if there was any way to receive a full refund, and he told me there was no way and that I would be charged a $56 processing fee.
Later in the afternoon, I chatted with another customer service representative. She told me that I could cancel the application myself by clicking the three dots on the website. I immediately did it but it was already 10 minutes past the 24-hour window. The website then showed that I would be charged because it was over 24 hours.
I feel completely deceived. The first agent told me there was no way to receive a full refund and refused to help me cancel at that moment. If I had been given the correct information, I would have canceled in time and received the full refund.
Another reason to think twice about using WES: if your school is unable to send transcripts directly to them, they will not proceed with the evaluation.
I am so upset and disappointed with my experience with WES today.
