On Tuesday 27th June 2023, I bought a (very expensive) Jeep Wrangler from Westaway Motors in Northampton, via Spoticar. As I live in West Wales, one of the key factors of the purchase was the alleged Spoticar UK-wide warranty that came with the vehicle.By Sunday 9th July, less than 2 weeks after purchasing, the vehicle had developed 3 faults, including an engine malfunction. I rang Westaway Motors, only to be told that I needed to contact my nearest Jeep dealer in Wales myself to organise an investigation under the Spoticar warranty. I rang every Jeep dealer in Wales, only to be told that none of them honoured the Spoticar warranty. I then contacted Westaway Motors again and requested that they take back the vehicle, as the warranty was totally useless. They refused! After lengthy wrangling (pardon the pun) over the phone Westaway did eventually contact a dealer in Wales who agreed to inspect the vehicle, but stated that I might still have to pay for anything not covered by warranty. I would also have had to arrange to transport it myself. However, by this point I was sick of the whole scenario and I am now in the process of exploring trading in the Wrangler at a big loss, for a totally different make of vehicle with a more locally based dealer that has nothing to do with Spoticar.I would give both Spoticar and Westaway Motors ZERO stars if possible. I will never use either again.
