This message is a complaintAnd a warning against buying a timeshare at Westgate properties. In 2018, my and an associate attended a sales presentation at Westgate in Orlando Florida. After a pressure filled presentation and a supervisor brought in. After numerous lies, half truths and promises which were never kept we entered into an agreement to purchase at Westgate Towers. After returning home my associates and I had second thoughts the associate was let out of the contract and Westgate began to come after me. I notified them I was not attending the resort and would like to be let out of the contract. It has been a six year ordeal and I’ve never stayed at the property. The company who did not have my SSN during the signing explicitly told me the contract would not impact my credit as they did not report to the credit bureau. This was a lie. When I discovered the derogatory report on my credit, I was then tricked into another contract but they said I had to pay extra to have it cleared from my credit. Then Covid hit, and the Westgate Towers were empty as travel was restricted etc etc. they never offered me relief. In 2022 I lost my job, went through a divorce, had a nervous break down and eventually a heart attack. I was placed on disability. I notified Westgate of my situation and they claimed the only way to resolve the issue is to sign another contract and pay another fee to remove a derogatory report to the credit bureaus. As I was struggling with depression they took advantage of me. I send emails and call asking to speak to management, only to be told a supervisor would call and never received a call. I feel defrauded and taken advantage of as I have never spent on night at the Westgate Resort. I contacted a timeshare exit company and they wanted $5000 to assist me. I advise anyone to never do business with Westgate Resorts as I am now forced to fill a complaint with State Representatives, Attorney General to get justice
