I feel that my wife Hope and I were tricked into this purchase through deceptive sales practices and misrepresentation. We were misinformed about many details. They told us that the presentation would take about 90 minutes, but it ended up being 3 hours. This misrepresentation led us to believe that we were making an investment in something other than a traditional timeshare. The sales agents pressured us repeatedly, and despite declining two or three times, they continued their aggressive tactics until we felt forced to make a decision. We have never used the timeshare since purchasing it. When we contacted Westgate to return the property, we were told we were "stuck with it" unless we could sell it ourselves - a stark contrast to the promise that we could "cancel anytime." This is a financial burden on us! Their sales agents failed to disclose that the yearly maintenance fees would increase by 6% every single year—forever. They also deliberately concealed that these maintenance fees would be passed down to our children when we pass away, a crucial detail that would have affected our decision. The entire sales process felt rushed, with sales agents creating artificial urgency. Two sales agents told us the "deals" would only be possible for that day only, so we weren't given any time to do our research. Since our first encounter with the Westgate sales agents, we've been fed nothing but lies and false promises, and we want out of this arrangement.
