I had a terrible experience with Westgate Resorts and strongly advise anyone to think twice before signing anything. From the beginning, the sales tactics were manipulative and deceptive. Our rep, Chique, quickly shifted her pitch after learning we owned rental properties—suddenly claiming we could rent out our timeshare on Airbnb, which we later found out was completely untrue as the price always fluctuate and seems to be the same as regular prices. We were also promised rooms for $49.99, a huge selling point for us, but we never once saw those rates offered. Six months in, it became clear that what we were sold and what we received were two very different things, so I made the decision to stop paying. Even though it’s now been over three years, Westgate continues to threaten our credit. This entire experience has been stressful and full of regret. Do yourself a favor—don’t fall for the high-pressure sales and false promises.
