We have unfortunately found ourselves tied up in the mess that is Westgate timeshares. We were visiting Branson, Missouri, when we were invited to attend a presentation at the Westgate Branson Woods resort. They did everything they could to disorient us by sending multiple sales agents to our table to discuss and throwing all kinds of information out without enough time to understand all of it fully. They then gave us an ultimatum, either decide on the “great” deal now or walk away and lose the “great” deal. Looking back, we wish we had walked away. The presentation took over 3 hours of intense back and forth, and we ended up buying because of the words of their sales agents. They talked all about the great benefits and there being no negatives. Boy was that wrong. This whole experience has been negative. Since the pandemic and now that we have retired, our budget has not allowed us to continue pouring money into the never ending costs associated with this timeshare. Westgate has not taken this into consideration at all and has instead just threatened to foreclose on us and impact our credit even further. So they allow their employees to flat out lie to you and get you locked into a contract. Then, from there, they will not help you out at all and will instead just foreclose on the account and treat you as poorly as they can in the process. Just avoid the mistake altogether. Nothing they say is worth the stress they will cause you and your family. Rhett Hamiter
