My family and I went to Florida to destress, not to gain another reason to stress. The Westgate sales associates in Florida lied to us and bribed us into buying a timeshare. They had told us we would receive a $1500 gift card to book our next vacation, but we never received it. They kept us in the sales meeting for 3 long and excruciating hours. In the year since we purchased our timeshare, we have tried to book MORE THAN 20 TIMES and have been unsuccessful. Our salesman had told us we can EASILY rent out our timeshare as well. Since we had no luck in booking any vacations for ourselves, we decided to go down that route. We have had no luck with renting our timeshare out either. We sent Westgate an email demanding for us to be released for our contract, considering we have given them over $6,000 and received nothing in return. They have decided to ignore us. On their website they say, “Timeshare vacations (sometimes called fractional ownership) ensures you can take a great vacation every single year!”. Just one more lie they are telling their customers.
