I honestly cannot believe the amount of hype around this product. After seeing 30+ TikTok and YouTube reviews, including before and after photos and videos (which I assume now are filters), I decided to try the Westmore Beauty Body Coverage Perfector to cover some minor leg marks and a birthmark, but more so just for an overall healthy smoothed skin glow, as it was advertised (again, just as beauty photo filters do). I have fair skin so I chose the shade: Natural Radiance.
I followed the instructions exactly as recommended. Before application: Exfoliated in the shower, completely dried my legs, applied nothing beforehand, ensured skin was fully dry. Application process: Used the $32 Westmore body brush, applied 3 separate coats, waited 15–20 minutes after each coat to then lightly wipe with a towel between layers as directed. Waited another 20 minutes before applying the next coat. I took a final photo one hour after the third coat to compare right next to the before photo in the same position and lighting. If any difference, only negative (leg looks dry and spots are accentuated slightly darker instead of covered).
Results: Absolutely no improvement whatsoever. If anything, the scars and marks on my leg and my birthmark actually appear darker after application. Even the slightest freckle isn’t the smallest bit blended in or covered. The product also settled unevenly and emphasized skin texture rather than covering it. My leg looks super dry without the slightest “radiance” or glow. Even worse, within about 4 hours the product had essentially worn off completely.
For something marketed as “body coverage” that is sweatproof and long-lasting, this result is extremely disappointing. Considering the $48 price tag of the product plus the $32 brush they recommend, the performance is nowhere near what is advertised online. I am returning it immediately. Luckily they accept returns for refunds.
Based on my experience and the dramatic results shown in many social media videos, the marketing feels extremely misleading. As mentioned, after re-watching the videos after my attempts, it truly appears that all the posts are just paid influencers using filters.
I followed the directions carefully, used the recommended brush, applied multiple layers, waited the proper drying time, and still saw zero coverage improvement.
