When my brother passed, he left behind two inoperable junk cars. I could not find title papers for both cars and used information from DMV re-registration and insurance mailings. In my online search, Wheels for Wishes was the only charitable organization that said they picked up untitled, inoperable junk cars in my City/County because there is a Make-a-Wish Chapter here. Other charities said they picked up vehicles in operable condition only, or if inoperable in other counties around the state, but not mine. The tow truck driver was punctual and courteous (even called 10 minutes before arrival) and towed both cars across the City and across the Bay Bridge to the East Bay.Wheels for Wishes kept me informed about the process via emails and received information about the exact amount for tax deduction via snail mail in about 5-6 weeks. The organization made a difficult situation easy with minimal hassle.I once talked with a tow truck driver who said he wanted $500 to tow both cars out. So it’s a no-brainer getting a tax deduction for more than twice that amount by donating to Wheels for Wishes for the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
