Bernard Walker
Disappointed

UPDATE: Lowe's corporate office called us and reached a resolution. .Back in 2023, I proudly brought home a shiny new Whirlpool fridge for $2,230. from the Lowe's Tifton, GA store location. I thought I was making a smart choice—trusting the brand, the price tag, and the promise of durability. Lowe’s offered us an extended warranty, but I shrugged it off. “It’s Whirlpool,” I said. “Fridges are supposed to last 10 to 15 years!” (According to both Lowe’s and the U.S. Energy websites)Fast forward to July 2025— the faithful fridge gave up. No cooling, no freezing, just a very shiny expensive box. The silver lining? I had an old drink fridge on the back porch that came to the rescue. No food was lost!Naturally, I thought Lowe’s would want to help me as being a loyal customer of over 20 yrs and a pro-business account holder. I called/chatted with Lowe's customer service, and spoke with one of the store managers, and even informed them “I’m renovating my kitchen and still need to buy a stove and dishwasher” which I am, kitchen cabinets are going up this week (not by Lowe's, thank goodness). Nope. Nothing. No refund, no discount, not even a sympathy coupon. I also reached out to Lowe’s warranty department and Whirlpool directly. Spoiler alert: still no help. Just a whole lot of friendly 'I'm sorrys.'Turns out, Lowe’s return window is just 90 days, and Whirlpool’s warranty only lasts a year.So here I am, fridge-less and frustrated, sharing my story, so companies can bring back true customer service. Lesson to all other customers': always get the extended warranty—even if you think you’re buying quality and double check the store's return policy. Because sometimes, even the most trusted brands leave you out in the cold… or in my case, not cold at all. Final point... Even if Armageddon begins or I'm being chased by zombies, I will never set foot in a Lowe's store again or buy Whirlpool, unless they make me an offer I cannot refuse.
