Had the washer about a year, practically brand new. All of a sudden, won't spin, coming on by itself in mid cycle, have to keep it unplugged. Luckily I came across Brian at Home Town Appliance who was very honest. States control board is a known issue, and my model qualifies for possible replacement per my model number, as so many of these things have failed they are now on back order. Called whirlpool which I'm told, no matter the name on your machine, it's still most likely a whirlpool product, which I will keep in mind for my next purchase, as it will NOT be a whirlpool brand of that you can be sure. First rep I could not understand a single word she was saying, and yes she sounded American, would not speak so as I could understand her. Got a case opened and someone was supposed to call me w/in 3 hours. I had to call back again today and ask, as noone had called. 2nd rep who could not have cared less, all she wanted was me off her line, states they are coming today. I work nights so I had to get up early and finally found all they did was send an email and advise they were coming. What if I had been at work today? Instead I'm up two hours early with no say so in the matter. Not one single person I have encountered has been nice throughout this whole experience. It's not my fault your product is a piece of junk, but my takeaway is I was just bothering all of them. You can rest assured I will never bother you again as I'll never buy your products again if I have to pay 5x the cost for a different manufacturer. UPDATE 6/2/25 Pushback after whirlpool tech has confirmed parts are on back order. No turn around time... nothing. Even though my model number has been confirmed as part of the recall. I have contacted Consumer Affairs and filed a complaint with BBB. We will see what happens. I guess we are supposed to go down to the river and wash our clothes after paying,$650 for their washer.
