I bought a Whirlpool top load washer exactly one year ago after researching. Per my research, Whirlpool washers lasted longer with less maintenance. So I bought Whirlpool Type 589-21, model numberWTW5057LW0. Last week the washer stopped mid cycle and would not spin. I tried all the things such as resetting etc with no luck. I just paid $125 for a technician to tell me I need a new control panel and lid lock which sounds pricey. He will let me know how much I will need to pay additionally for this. He did say that these models were built during the pandemic and he has had to work on about 8 of these washers for this problem in the last couple years. I do have a home warranty with “Choice” but they are horrible and I need my washer in service asap. Be aware!!!!
