The process has been rather sluggish, and even after a visit from a representative, I keep receiving emails stating that it remains incomplete. We provided the missing information, yet another email arrived. However, when I call, I'm assured that everything is fine. Then, yet another email claims the process is still pending. I'm left unsure about how matters will proceed when our executors need to engage with this company to resolve the issues.
I’m currently assisting my mother-in-law in canceling her policy with this company, which she was misled about in 2018. She has been paying £49 a month for what she believed was help with her will upon her passing. After examining the fine print, it appears the policy is actually a life insurance plan that compensates the company to “manage the estate.” Additionally, she was advised to place her house into a trust, which was unnecessary given her straightforward estate and that it doesn’t surpass tax limits. This has been a frustrating and expensive situation. My suggestion: always read the details thoroughly and don’t consent to anything unless you fully comprehend it.
