I was traveling home for a few days and looking to rent a car, but my first experience with WLC left quite a bitter impression, especially in terms of transparency.
“Zero Liability” sounds like it offers complete peace of mind, but in reality it only covers officially recorded accidents. In other words, if the car gets scratched, a tire is cut, or a mirror/window is damaged, you’re not covered unless you’ve added the “extra option”, because these are considered “incidents” even if they happen… accidentally 😅😊
And of course, these essential details are NOT made clear from the beginning, but only appear after you’ve entered your personal details.
I find it perfectly reasonable to have an extra charge for “after hours” pick-up or drop-off, however basic services like valeting, which are included in the final rental price with other companies, should be clearly communicated upfront, not discovered along the way.
Personally, I believe it would be much fairer to display a real “all-inclusive” price from the start, from which you can remove options you don’t need, rather than finding out later what is actually NOT included.
Unfortunately, this kind of approach does not inspire trust.
In the end, it’s not just about pricing or terminology, but about transparency and respect for the customer.
