A couple of days ago I purchased a lifetime license for the software Wondershare Recoverit because I needed to recover a video file that I had deleted from the Recycle Bin. I bought the lifetime license because I thought it might also be useful to me in the future, so I didn’t spare any expense. Long story short, after the scan it found more than 50 video files in the Recycle Bin, but after restoring them they all turned out to be corrupted and therefore unreadable. I therefore immediately requested a refund because, in addition to not having worked in this specific case, it would be useless even in the future since it is not effective as advertised. Customer support then started asking me for information: first a copy of one of the corrupted files, then copies of the software’s log files, and now they are asking me what type of hard drive I am using because, according to them, when using an SSD (which basically everyone uses nowadays) the software has difficulty recovering files deleted from the Recycle Bin. I just want my money back, and if your software has difficulties in certain specific circumstances, it is your responsibility to clearly explain this when you advertise it, because otherwise I would not have purchased it—let alone a lifetime license. I am awaiting a full refund. Until then, this review of mine will remain here to discourage others from buying your product and to call out your behavior.
