A complete waste of time and an utterly dishonest approach! After making me wait for hours for a 'Deep Scan' to finish, demanding payment just to recover the found files is nothing short of a scam. Instead of stating this upfront, you steal people's time. There is no difference between your tactics and ransomware—holding my own files hostage until I pay. Marketing this as free and then saying 'pay up to get your data' at the very last second is unethical. Do not waste your time with this!
Wondershare has a history of selling non functional and buggy software like Allmytube, streaming audio recorder and mobilego which no more works and has no support. Software which are being sold now by the, could face the same fate in future. One has to be careful before buying from this china headquartered company. They have poor ethics. This review is after contacting and getting poor response from their customer care.
We have been using the Wondershare Repair-it app for last 7/8 years now, and we have a Lifetime license for 5 devices which of course they don't provide anymore, as we lease our devices, these change all the time, however when It came to resetting the devices connected to the account, Wondershare refused to reset these stating when they are set they can't be removed [which is rubbish], what they are saying that we want you to force you to pay and move to our monthly subscription, which didn't set well with me so I will be taking my business else where.
This service advertises a “3-day free trial”, but in my experience, the trial was never actually provided.
I subscribed late at night (AEST) after being clearly shown that billing would start after the trial period. I only entered my card details for trial access.
However, my card was charged immediately, before the stated billing date.
I tested the product briefly and found it not fit for purpose. The “digital human” feature produced distorted faces, inaccurate results, and output that was completely unusable. Many free tools online deliver better results.
Within 30 minutes of subscribing, I contacted customer support to request a refund.
The refund system did not work, and customer support later replied with a template response stating that my request was “not compliant with the refund policy”.
I then followed their official cancellation process, only to discover that:
The subscription cannot be cancelled for the current period, and
“Cancellation” only applies to the next year, meaning the charge is unavoidable once your card details are entered.
This makes the advertised free trial meaningless.
There is also no option to remove stored card details, only to update them, which creates ongoing billing risk.
This feels like a deliberately misleading subscription design.
I would strongly advise others to avoid entering payment details unless they are prepared for an immediate, non-refundable charge.
I am now disputing the transaction through my bank.
I've been using this editing software for a few years to create my Twitch clips for YouTube Shorts and TikTok. While some features require payment (even with a lifetime license), the free options are good enough for my needs. I also have my own custom assets created with another tool. I'm giving it four stars because the speech-to-text AI doesn't support my native language, which is an issue for editing Czech language clips occasionally. However, it works flawlessly for English clips.
I had an extremely disappointing experience. I bought the software specifically to export WhatsApp chats, but this essential feature failed to work even once; the process kept freezing, rendering the software unusable. It does not perform as promised. To make matters worse, I was charged for a second month without my consent. I clearly purchased a one-time license and did not agree to any recurring payments. This charge is unauthorized. Selling malfunctioning software and billing users without permission is unacceptable. I strongly recommend avoiding this product.
I wanted to take advantage of the 7-day free trial they advertise, but to do so, I had to provide a payment method. After doing that, I was charged for a yearly subscription twice! I'm extremely frustrated and have been trying to get assistance from their customer service, but so far I've only received a vague response about possibly getting a refund for one of the charges. I hope others see my experience before trying their service and facing similar charges.
The free trial is quite deceptive. I expected to be charged only at the end of the trial, but it turns out the trial is only for additional products. It forces you to purchase the entire package. I attempted to request a refund immediately, but my request was denied.
This software is a reliable choice; it performs well and is cost-effective. However, new versions often seem like standard updates without clearly stating there will be an associated cost. Even if you're aware, it keeps prompting you to update. While reverting after an update isn't too difficult, it's not as simple as suggested. This can be frustrating for users, as it feels like a strategy to encourage upgrades.
