Banking scam alert

Update: Woodforest has responded with a boilerplate response to my review. I have not & will not contact them as I have already wasted hours of time and now money dealing with them. They kept $25 of my money and continue to want me to grovel and deal with them to get MY money back. This is definitely theft.Be aware of a complete lack of customer service from this bank.We recently moved from another state to Leland, NC. I opened a personal checking account at a local branch on the 28th of October 2022. On Nov. 23, 2022 I received a notification in the mail dated Nov. 17, informing me that something needed to be corrected on my original account form I filled in when the account was opened. I was given 15 days to contact them. I called the bank and was told that this needed to be done in person at the local branch. A few days later, I went to the local branch and after a wait of almost two (2) hours the branch manager, using a computer, corrected the questionable entry. I was told at that time that it was because I put "retired" in the place for my employer. My next experience with Woodforest Bank was a week later when again I received a notice via USPS that my account had been closed for noncompliance to a request and that the funds in my account would be refunded by cashiers check.The check did arrive but it was short $25. A fee I have now been told was because my account was closed before six months required for a new account. The local branch manager has said his hands are tied and that I must work with the corporate office with any complaints.I have banked with USAA for 40 years and we have always used email, text messages and phone calls to transact our banking business. I have spent too much time and travel dealing with this bank and the complete lack of customer support. I will write-off the $25 fee they took out of my account and consider it a contribution to the end-of-year bonus for the bank CEO.
